The theatre is available for hire and – with its city centre location, excellent parking, well-equipped facilities and full disabled access – makes a fantastic venue for a wide range of events. In the past we’ve hosted everything from meetings, training events, parties, wedding receptions and photo shoots to awards ceremonies, exhibitions, film premieres, religious services and funerals. The theatre is also used for regular weekly classes and meetings and is particularly popular for children’s activities.
There are three spaces available:
The main space at the Maltings is a fully equipped theatre. Although normally used for performances, the space is also very suitable for parties and meetings of any kind. The space is highly flexible and can be configured for almost any conceivable layout.
A small space which doubles as the dressing room for performances, this area is very popular for classes and small meetings and can comfortably accommodate 30 people. The room has dance studio flooring and is mirrored along one wall.
The theatre foyer makes a very good venue for parties and standing events and can comfortably accommodate 75 people.
We can provide a grand piano, cinema quality projector and large screen, bar facilities and technical and front of house staff for your event at a small additional cost.
We can offer bar and café services but we do not currently have commercial catering facilities, although we do have a small kitchen area which can be used for plating and serving food that has been prepared off the premises.
