Folk – The Daria Kulesh Quartet, Ben Moss & Bow by Bow
With her striking voice and strong Russian and Ingush heritage, Hertfordshire-based Daria Kulesh is a rising star and unique character on the UK folk scene. Her debut album, Eternal Child, received enthusiastic reviews and was followed by an award-winning second album, Long Lost Home. Daria’s brand new stellar band, Daria Kulesh Quartet, comprises leading young acoustic guitarist Tristan Seume, spectacular Belarusian pianist Marina Osman and expert hammered dulcimer player Kate Rouse. With a unique mix of instruments, cultures, innovative and delightful arrangements, impressive musicianship and exciting dramatic story-telling, this is a “captivating spectacle” not to be missed.
Ben Moss is well-versed in the folk traditions of England, and of his home county of Devon. Singing both traditional songs still relevant to our lives and original songs written to address the challenges we face in our society today, Ben accompanies himself on the fiddle, the melodeon, concertina and bouzouki and is about to release his debut album, ‘Lost Lands’.
New Roots finalists, Bow by Bow, consist of Noah Walton on fiddle and Alex Duncalf on cello. They have been busking on Oxford’s streets for five years, traditional English, Scottish, Irish and Breton tunes.
Tickets purchased for the March 2nd show will be valid for Friday July 6th
